Romney House Cat Rescue in Downe is a haven for cats! Many of them are affectionate domestic pets who have lost their homes, often through no fault of their own. Some of them have been through traumatic times and may even be the victims of cruelty or neglect and may need extra special homes with patient owners who can rebuild trust. Whatever you are looking for, you can see them all on the website: Romney House Cat Rescue or arrange to go and meet them by contacting Silvana 01959 572319 / 07958 273118

Poor Arabella has travelled over from Ireland - with her one surviving kitten - to seek refuge at Romney House. She was a stray who gave birth in the city centre! With no-one to feed her during her pregnancy, she was very underweight and suspicious of people but she has learnt to trust us and now loves a fuss - even rolling over to have her tummy tickled! She is far more confident now and is a real lap cat. She can be an indoor or outdoor cat.
Lucky is 13 years old and has been living in the garden of a retirement home. Whilst one of the residents fed him regularly and made him a comfortable shelter, he had little human contact. He was wary but now he has grown to love being stroked and brushed. He is desperate for a quiet home of his own with a garden he can enjoy. A home without children would be best as he had no contact with them in the past . He seems fairly tolerant of other cats so could be homed with other cats of similar age or older. Lovely Kitty is a very friendly little lady. She is a bit upset as she found a home after her first owners emigrated, but her new owner is very ill and cannot keep her. She is very easy to please - she just wants a secure loving home. She is fine with children and would probably be fine with a friendly dog. If she is the cat for you contact Croydon Cats Protection Homing Helpline 020 8763 0072.
Jesse is a lovely, gentle cat. He's a strikingly handsome, long-haired, grey and white lad. He came into us after months of being stressed and bullied by cats in his neighbourhood. He was quite depressed and his fur was matted and unkempt. He wants to be loved very much, but he is having to learn to trust again, and is scared of being hurt - but we're getting there and he improves daily. He just needs a loving patient person to continue to help him find his feet again. If that is you then contact Croydon Cats Protection Homing Helpline 020 8763 0072

Thomas & Tigger are very handsome gentlemen who are looking for a new home because their owner can no longer keep them. They are about 15 years old and are very special Golden Oldies, for whom CP will be able to help with vet bills if required. Thomas is the semi longhaired gent and Tigger has short hair. They are very friendly. Thomas is on daily medication for his thyroid. They are looking for a special person who will supervise Thomas taking one of his daily pills (he takes it in his food but needs to be encouraged to eat it). Thomas is also deaf, so an indoor home would be ideal. Contact Croydon Cats Protection Homing Helpline 020 8763 0072

Kerry is approx 10yrs old. She has been used to living with one elderly lady and seems to be better with female company. She has good health, eats well and is fully vaccinated. She is a friendly cat and is very much hoping that someone will offer her a new home very soon! Please call Lesley at Errington Lodge Cattery 01959 574339
Chloe is around 11yrs old and is losing her home as her owners have to relocate to Hong Kong and cannot take her with them! She can be shy initially but once she knows you, she is loving and affectionate. Although not exactly a lapcat (few torites are!) she likes to sleep on the bed - as near to you as possible. She would be happy as an indoor cat but would prefer to be the only pet in a quiet home. Please contact Doug 07958 787568 if you could offer her a home.

If you are looking for a Siamese cat, then the Siamese Cat Club Welfare Trust may be able to help you. They have a selection of these beautiful - but potentially demanding so be warned!! - cats. They are usually in foster homes but arrangements to view them can easily be made if you think you could give any of them a loving, caring home. Please contact SCCWT
Orpington Cat Rescue has been formed to help homeless and unwanted cats in the Bromley and Orpington area and currently have several lucky black cats that have been rather unlucky! If you bring luck into one of these cat's lives, they will surely bring luck into yours! Contact Orpington Cat Rescue and ask to be introduced.
2 Year old Oscar is a long haired tabby with white paws and chest. He came into our care because he was stressed with the new arrival of a baby in the house. He is extremely affectionate and would make a lovely companion so he could have all the fuss he needs. Email Peitra for more details.
Georgie is a very large friendly cat; he really is a gentle giant. He was a stray, who decided to take shelter on a landing of some stairs outside someone’s flat. Fortunately the lady who lived in the flat was a cat lover, and she made some enquiries; the cat had been left by its owner when they moved. 18 Months had passed and no matter how she tried Georgie was never going to be accepted by her own cat. As she did not want to leave Georgie outside for another winter on the landing which she had made shelter for him she decided to call us to give him a chance of a nice home where he could be safe and warm. Georgie is 5 to 6 years old and would be suited to a home as an only pet. Email Peitra for more details.
