Marmi

On 3 January 2006 I had to say goodbye to my beloved Marmi. He was 18 years old and had water on the lungs. He had survived a thyroid op in September but sadly got poorly over Christmas. I took him to the vet on Christmas eve and he drained the fluid but sadly it built up again and on 29th the vet drained it again but told me he wouldn't last long. He advised me to take him home as the fluid had been drained again and give him a few days of love before taking him back. I had a wonderful New Year's eve cuddling and stroking him. On the night of 2nd I felt he wasn't well and I didn't want him to suffer so I took him in on 3rd and talked to him as he went to sleep for the final time. It was the hardest thing I've had to do and I miss him terribly. I only had him for about 5 years but he was my sole companion. He originally lived with my neighbour and her other cat Archie keeps coming in and wandering around looking for his friend - they weren't best friends but they always stuck together when there was a new cat in the neighbourhood!
