In memory of..

Chalkie

On Saturday 20 May 2006 I lost my best friend. He passed away unexpectedly but at least it was quick and he wasn't in any pain. Chalkie was an amazing soul and I swear I can still hear his constant chattering at night when the house is quiet.

All cats have their funny ways but he had the most beautiful manner about him. He would follow me everywhere, when I sat down to eat he sat behind me on the chair. When I went into the bathroom he would wait outside the door and when I went into my bedroom he would run ahead and dive onto the bed in perfect stroking position. When I slept he would throw himself across me and dribble estatically whilst purring so loud I'm sure the whole neighbourhood could hear him! When I left for work in the morning he would roll over on his back and look at me lovingly from his upside down position making me want to give him one more cuddle and kiss.

His favourite dish was fresh cod and whenever there was fish around he would do an excited little dance and meow loudly until we caved in and gave him some. His eyes told me he loved me and he was very much loved by me and my family. I can't explain how much I miss him or how heart broken I am that he's gone.

Sleep peacefully my baby, I will love and miss you forever.
