This picture illustrates perfectly why most cats benefit from being homed in pairs! Mac & Sully love each other to bits and often lie like this. In this age when everybody lives busy lives and people are often out for long periods, it is great for cats to have some company of their own kind.
Happiness is ... someone to wash your neck and those other bits so difficult to reach! Cairo & Crystal were litter-mates, homed together from Foal, so they have never been parted! Another good example of 'two is company'!

It was great to get news of our 'big & beautiful' Mike who has settled into his new home really well
His new owner, Clare, writes: Mike has got himself into a bit of a routine now and has found himself a dedicated sleeping/grooming area. He's much friendlier now that he's allowed to go out and has taken to sitting on my lap or on Tim's. He's a lot more trusting and he seems to be really happy. He said to say hello.

Mr Jones was very timid when he was with us - and Jessica was not much better - so we put them together for company! We were delighted when they were offered a home together last year. It is amazing how things have turned out! We hope to see picture of Jessica soon - there is obviously no room on this sofa for her!!
After being in their new home for almost a year we recived the following: As you can see, Mr Jones is a little more relaxed now and regularly likes to sit on the settee and watch the football with Ray! Jessica (also known as Fluff) has also settled in well and is never far from Jonesy's side. Both their personalities have really come out. Jessica is still pretty independent, but has cuddles on my knee every evening whilst Jonesy is always by my side wherever I am, including in the bed! Basically, they are both spoilt rotten.

I think this letter says it all! If you are considering having 2 cats it does make life easier for all if you take 2 that are used to living together but as you can see, strangers can become friends!
Alfie & Bobby wrote to us recently: We did not really know each other when we went home and Bobby was so scared he stayed behind the sofa for about 2 days. Our new mum & dad were very kind and did try and put him at ease but he was already very timid. For the first night I kept mum and dad up all night crying. It was a new house with new smells. As you can see from the pictures we have now settled in very nicely. The sofa is much better when you sit ON it than behind it, you can stretch out, read a book, watch some telly, oh and sleep a lot. Mum was showing these pictures to her friends and all they could say was 'Don't they do anything other than sleep?'. The bed is also a good place to sleep and we have our own blanket and they never tell us off for getting hair everywhere. We have a whole host of new toys and even Bobby is starting to come out of his shell and play with them. He does love a cuddle and is always on dads lap snuggling up. I tried to keep my distance as I did not know we would get to stay but am now much happier now and regularly sit on mum and kiss and lick her face. We would both like to thank everyone at Foal Farm for all their help in finding us a new home and wish you the best of luck with all our brothers & sisters and hope they will be as lucky as us.
