Sky is another of our residents that we saw on 2 occasions - she was returned when she escaped and attacked her owner when he tried to catch her! As Lisa, her new owner, says 'She has setled in well and is a very loving cat, not a bit like the one we thought she might be! We are so happy to have her! It seems she is very happy to be with you! |
![]() This is how Tigger (now known as Bailey) looked when he was with us at Foal. He hissed a lot and appeared quite aggressive although did not actually attack! I was delighted when he was offered a home as this type of cat makes progress so much quicker in a proper home where they feel secure. I am also delighted by the following extract from Jacky's letter, which was recived after only a week! I would encourage anybody to take on an older cat. I have had kittens in the past but my experience this last week, unless I've been extremely lucky, has taught me that they maybe show a little more appreciation for the home comforts you provide for them and Bailey did not need any encouragement to use his litter tray. A big thank you to Foal Farm for allowing us to adopt such a lovely cat. |
He was left to his own devices in a spare room and spent the night scowling from a dark corner. He loves his food so much that he found the courage to come out next morning for some breakfast and a cuddle. He was moulting a lot and didn't seem to care much, but by Saturday he was enjoying a much needed brush followed by some biscuit treats and seemed quite contented. He came downstairs that evening and met our 2 dogs - Cassie the Beagle and Tara the Jack Russell - albeit from a distance!! He appears from his bedroom as soon as he hears someone get up and meows for his breakfast. then likes a cuddle and a brush followed by a game with a plastic ring on a piece of elastic. he then likes to nap for most of the day, getting up if he's hungry. Around tea-time he asks for his food if I'm not already preparing it. It's going to take a while before he's completely comfortable with the dogs and vice versa, but they are keeping a respectable distance and if the dogs do get too close Bailey a hiss normally sets them straight. It will be another couple of weeks before he goes outside, but I don't think he will want to stray very far from his food bowl and he seems too lazy to scale the six foot fence which encloses the back garden - or maybe he's scared of heights as he hasn't left the ground yet !!! |
