Mutley was another of our very timid cats who was lucky enough to find an understanding home. As you can see from the before and after photos, he has improved a lot. Joyce says 'although still wary with strangers, he is very affectionate when he trusts you and is getting braver every day'. |

You may remember Chelsea & Marmaduke, the two cats who were returned to us because they were just too good at hunting and their owner did not like dealing with the bodies! Although distasteful to many, this is a natural part of feline behaviour and is hard wired into them, even though domestic cats no longer have to hunt to eat. It seemed the answer to our prayers when Gill, who lives on a farm in Gloucestershire, contacted us, desperately seeking cats to control the rodent population in her feed store! In spite of the distance involved the formalities were completed and the cats left us for life in the country. Gill wrote to say: Just to let you know that Chelsea and Marmaduke have settled in really well! They are such gorgeous cats and seem to be very happy at the prospect of life on the farm. They've been out and about now for a couple of days and Marmaduke is already living up to his 'reputation' - what a star he is (the local rodents who moved in after harvest are hastily packing their bags and leaving in disgust)!!!They are the sweetest cats and seem very content here already. We are delighted with them! It is nice to think they are now being praised for their natural behaviour not punished! |

Saxon & Selbie were adopted from Foal as kittens and are described as 'free spirits' by their new owners. They have 2 older brothers to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't step out of line! |
![]() ![]() Michele added 'I would like to thank everybody at foal farm for the great work they do especially the lady I rang at night on the emergency number when Serena pulled out her stitches after she was spayed! I was in hysterics not knowing what to do, she helped calm me down and gave some good advice. |
Serena was a
desperate cat having been at Foal for some time after having been returned for
antisocial behaviour! Michelle writes 'To this day we can not understand why
as she is a lovely cat and has a beautiful fluffy black coat and huge green
eyes. She came over as very timid on the farm, but within weeks of getting her
home she settled in very well and promoted herself to ruler of house and
garden. She does not like other cats but loves humans especially when they are
in bed trying to sleep!! Michelle also points out that Serena is extra special as she has thumbs (extra toes on her front paws known as polydactyl)! |
