Fluffy finds new life as a ship's cat at 14yrs old!.
We were a bit stumped when we were asked 'Can I have a cat that will be happy on a boat?' But why not we said? The homecheck passed so Tracy and Purdey are now very happy together, they wrote to say: ' thanks for being so open-minded'!
It was love at first sight when Tracey first saw Fluffy, even though older than she intended. She wrote to us the very next day, after taking her home - to The Ganges' - a houseboat! "The first thing Fluffy said was she wanted a new name - after trying a few on for size, she opted for Purdey. She has turned out to be the purr-fect ship's cat. She came aboard, sniffed around, selected a cushion and a spot on the bed as her favourite places and has been lounging there ever since. Purdey's super-loud purr will be more than enough to keep any potential stowaways on the quayside. To anyone who thinks twice about getting an older cat - don't. Purdey is a beautiful 14-year-old girl with impeccable manners, cool intelligence and the confidence to adapt to new surroundings. In fact everything a cat should be."
'I am the lady whom took Lloyd(fiv+), he is doing fine and was extremely spoilt over the festive season, lots of toys and plenty to eat. We have had a visit to the vet to trim his claws and he was very well behaved, but no chance us doing it. Lloyd has really started to show his real character now - a snob! Very fussy eater, pate and sardines are a real favourite and cheese!!! not too much though. He has learned to go on a lead and often goes into the garden for a sniff round. As for the biting, still doing it only to me, not his daddy!!!!'
Candy's owners came to the Farm for a ginger tom! She does not quite meet those specifications but is much loved! Unfortunately she was found to have a malignant tumour on her leg which has now been removed. Hopefully this is a Happy Ending as she is receiving lots of devoted nursing and TLC and has made a good recovery.
