Most people who send us ''Happy Endings' do so within the first few weeks of taking their new pets home.It was a lovely surprise to receive this update, telling us how well these cats are - 7 years after their adoption!

Gizmo was ill with hepatic lipidosis shortly after being adopted but, fortunately, the last time she had a blood test, the vet said that her enzyme level looked so normal that she found it hard to believe all those years ago.

It’s been 7 years since we adopted Blackie and Gizmo from you. They are doing great. These pictures were taken in July this year when they were enjoying the hot summer. Blackie is now about 14 years old. and is getting more and more affectionate He has also learnt to talk the last few years so we sometimes get woken up in the middle of the night ‘cos he fancies a chat! He doesn’t bring mice in as much as he used to but he still loves going out at night and does a bit of stalking. His favourite way of getting attention is to head butt you. I’ve spilled many cups of tea when he gets me on my elbow. Gizmo is now 13. . She’s an indoor cat and prefers human company. Gizmo is still talkative and affectionate as ever. At the moment, she’s determined to befriend one of our friends who is not keen on cats. Despite our friend’s protest, he’s losing the battle and succumbing to the “Gizmo’s charm”!! Gizmo has also developed a strange way of drinking water by dipping her paw into the water bowl and licking it off her paw. Bizarre and fascinating!
We promised to let you know how Willow - who we now call Jack was getting on. He is very happy here with our other two cats and we have never know a cat to eat so much! He has recently taken to sleeping on the end of the bed, but doesn't disturb us all night, just gets up with us and eats again!! He is a real character, thank you.

This 'family' has consisited of many of our older and problem cats over the years and we are very grateful to Claire for taking on so many, so willingly!

We have moved house out to the countryside, where the cats now have a piece & quiet and a huge garden to play in, and right beside this is a paddock where they can also go if they’re feeling adventurous. However, now that winter has set in they are mainly spending their time baking in front of the wood burning stove
Fluff is feeling his age a little and is now almost completely blind –but he’s determined and has coped very well with the house move. He has got a lot calmer and has learnt to trust us, which is lovely considering he didn’t trust anyone when we got him first, and was really quite aggressive. Sooty has got much more confident, now that he isn’t surrounded by so many neighbouring cats and has become the ‘boss’ again. He looks after all the other cats. Delilah has gone half wild – choosing not to be in the house when we are, though she comes in every night to sleep on a sofa. She has also taken to catching mice on a fairly regular basis – she’s very good at it. She will, though still come for the occasional cuddle when she’s in the mood. Sonar and Boy (Susie & Scruffy) have settled in very well – Sonar was a little anxious, but she now comes up to bed with us every evening and this is giving her the comfort she needs. Boy is so laid back and is completely at home – he is absolutely adorable. Duchess (Miss Kitty) is our real success story – she never seemed completely happy in our last home, always sleeping in the spare room on her own. She has changed completely now she has more space. She now regularly sleeps on the bed and is completely part of the family now. We can't thank you enough for making it possible for us to have these wonderful companions.
