Losing a beloved pet is very upsetting and people deal
with their grief in different ways. Fortunately, many feel that offering an
unwanted cat a new home is a way of saying thank you to their lost pet - for
all the pleasure they gave. |
Amber (was called Kitty renamed to Amber because of her
big beautiful eyes) has been with us now for nearly 3 months and has settled in
well with our other cat Dusty. Once Amber ventured into the outside world there
was no stopping her, visiting all the neighbours, checking out the wildlife
(biggest thing to be brought home and through the cat flap was a Jay!!). Amber
adores company and is very talkative and loves to follow us everywhere - she is
wonderful and has helped us get over the loss of our other cat Pebbles who was
16 and had a tumour. |

We adopted Pedro and Picasso in Aug when they
were 3 months old. They have fitted in well to our family and have made friends
with our other cats. They all play nicely and they love their new garden and
roaming around the house. |
The resident cat often feels a bit put out by the
newcomer to begin with but over time they usually adjust and often become firm
friends. How long? That I cannot tell you but it could be several
weeks! |
We adoped 'Tai' and renamed him Morris (my 6 year old
daughter's idea) last month. Morris loves exploring his garden but definitely
prefers his home comforts and is usually settled down on someone's lap or on
his favourite chair for the evening with us. Our cat of 9 years, Harriet, is
just about tolerating Morris now (but still sulking) - I think he looks on her
as a miserable old maiden aunt. He has a lovely, sweet nature but doesn't stop
talking! |
Often, owners are distraught at having to give up their
pets commony through to illness. We do try to keep them informed but do not
disclose any details without the new owner's permission. |
A lovely picture of Smudge in her new home! She is having a fantastic
time and is being looked after like a baby! She settled in very quickly and is
enjoying all of the attention. She is a bit of a celebrity and has had lots of
visitors !! Thanks for letting us give her a new home. We hope the chap who had her will be reassured by this note.
